About the Edition

Jessie Flood-Paddock's limited edition is her first collaboration with Counter. The sculpture is derived from the logo of the natural skin care range - Nude - which consists of four identical curved letters arranged in a flowing geometric pattern. Flood-Paddock has taken this logo and reimagined it as a three dimensional sculpture, purposefully assembling the four letters in such a way as to suggest a semi-abstract figure, similar in kind to those mid-century modern sculptures that Henry Moore is so well known for.

Cyan nude is the maquette for a much larger sculpture which featured in Jessie's 2014 show 'Nude' at the Carl Freedman Gallery.

About the Artist

Jessie Flood-Paddock is a young British sculptor whose work tackles the stuff that we're consumed by and devour, as well as what goes on inside and outside our bodies. The sources of her work are mostly the everyday. Previous work has engaged with the tradition of the Maine lobster eating festival, the over-looked artful designs of wasabi peanut snacks and the museologocial presentation of an Aztec fertility statue.

Jessie was born in 1977 and currently lives and works in London. She graduated from Royal College of Art in 2005. Recent exhibitions include Tate Britain, London, Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge, CSW Ujadowski Castle, Warsaw and Carl Freedman gallery, London.
