Counter Editions is pleased to present the official limited edition prints for Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The eight contributing artists are: Tracey Emin, Anne Hardy, Howard Hodgkin, Sarah Jones, Eddie Peake, Benjamin Senior, David Shrigley, and Sam Taylor-Johnson. The artists were asked to create unique images in celebration of Rio and Brazil, with the spirit of Team GB as their inspiration.
Since 1912, prints and posters have been commissioned for each of the Games, creating celebratory and inspiring meetings of art and sport. Building upon a relationship that started in 2012 with Counter Editions creating the Official Prints for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Counter has gone on to produce the official prints for Team GB at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, and the Baku 2015 European Games, and now the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The full list of contributing artists is: Tracey Emin, Anne Hardy, Howard Hodgkin, Sarah Jones, Eddie Peake, Benjamin Senior, David Shrigley, and Sam Taylor-Johnson.
The artists were chosen by Counter Editions to illustrate a broad range of styles and artistic approaches in contemporary art. The selection celebrates both the diversity and the inspiring richness of British art today.
